In December 11, 2020, in Nur-Sultan, a meeting of the Council of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan was held under the chairmanship of the State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Krymbek Kusherbayev.
The meeting was attended by State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Krymbek Kusherbayev, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dauren Abayev, as well as regional akims - chairmen of the APK of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent and regions, heads of central government bodies, members of the Assembly Council. Director, deputy chairman of the SEC APK Zarema Shaukenova took part from the KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the event, issues of implementation of the policy of peace and harmony of the First President - Elbasy, Chairman of the APK N.A. Nazarbayev, as well as the role of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in strengthening the country's independence were considered.
In his speech, the State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Kusherbayev noted: “Today is the time for a new stage in the development of interethnic relations. At the Assembly Council on November 11, the Elbasy very clearly noted the social demand for a new, inclusive policy in the field of interethnic relations. In the near future, the President of the Assembly pointed out the importance of developing measures aimed at deepening the processes of integration of society. The necessity of transforming “the ethnic and cultural diversity of Kazakhstan into a competitive advantage and a tool for strengthening the independence and development of the country is indicated.
It is seen as important to strengthen the social capital of unity and harmony, to form new platforms for interaction between ethnic groups, to prevent the politicization of the ethnic issue, and to neutralize any conflicts on ethnic grounds. This year, a huge amount of work has been done in a short time, aimed at changing approaches to the management of interethnic processes in the country. They acquire a more institutionalized character. A structural and qualitative “reset” of the Assembly is taking place as a general civil, supra-political and nationwide institution, which is trusted ”.
At the end of the meeting, in accordance with article 87 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan" and article 10 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan", the APK Council nominated 9 candidates for deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, elected by the Assembly.
