In November 12, 2020, an ethnopolitical discourse on the topic "The Kordai Conflict: Causes, Consequences and Lessons" took place online. The event was organized by the Institute of Applied Ethnopolitical Research of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the event, the political scientist Erlan Sairov, professor of the Sofia University named after St. Kliment Ohridsky Tatiana Dronzina, Director of the Institute for Applied Ethnopolitical Research Talgat Kaliev, expert of the International Center for Advanced Studies Nikolay Kapitonenko (Ukraine), ethnopsychologist Nikolay Strakhov (Russia), expert of the Center for Army Research, Conversion and Disarmament Yuri Poyta (Ukraine), Director of the Research Institute "Kogamdyk pikir" Botagoz Rakisheva, expert of the PaperLab research group Serik Beisembayev, deputy chairman of the Committee for the Development of Interethnic Relations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Galym Shoykin.

The speakers spoke about the results of the analysis of the conflict that occurred in the village of Masanchi in February 2020. Among the reasons for the conflict were noted - compact residence, the closeness of the ethnic group, economic inequality in the region, demographic pressure, corruption. The experts drew attention to the need for information support of the course of the conflict, training the police and local executive authorities in public relations in crisis situations. The event participants exchanged views on the prospects for using effective measures to prevent interethnic conflicts.
