On September 30, 2021, the International Center for Geopolitical Forecasting "East-West" and the Association for Political Studies in Nur-Sultan held an international round table on the topic "Inclusive Taliban government - the dilemma of the modern state structure model. Finding a Balance ".

The round table was held in a mixed (online / offline) format with the aim of constructive analytical coverage of contemporary problems in Afghanistan and the political situation with the coming to power of the Taliban movement in this country.

The event was attended by leading experts from the countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan, Russia, Ukraine, the United States, etc. The event was moderated by Karlygash Nugmanova, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, President of the International Center for Geopolitical Forecasting "East-West", Director of the Political Research Associations in Nur-Sultan.

The participants of the event discussed issues of regional security through the prism of potential threats, as well as geopolitical changes associated with the withdrawal of a foreign contingent from Afghan territory.

The experts paid attention to the issues of the arisen geopolitical turbulence, security and prospects for the development of the situation in Central Asia and Afghanistan, as well as the strategy of the regional powers on the Afghan case.

The specialists were especially interested in the promotion of foreign policy initiatives of Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries aimed at strengthening regional security and global stability.

The round table was attended by experts from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of European and international organizations.

On behalf of the KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the main expert Bulat Auelbayev took part in the event, who in the second session on the topic "Security and the future of Afghanistan" presented the report "The Taliban in power: problems and prospects".
