On June 8-9, 2021, the VII International scientific and expert forum «Primakov Readings» on the topic: «Contemporary challenges to the world order» took place in Moscow. Organizer - Institute of world economy and international relations named after E.M.Primakov of the RAS with the support of the Presidential grants foundation, the Center for foreign policy cooperation named after E.M.Primakov, Center for international trade, Chamber of commerce and industry of the RF.

Taking into account the epidemiological situation, the forum was held in a mixed mode. In offline mode, about 300 people were present in the hall, some foreign speakers made a speech through videoconferencing, and there was also an opportunity for watching online for everyone. https://www.imemo.ru/news/events/text/primakovskie-chteniya-2021 

«Primakov Readings» is an annual international meeting of experts in the field of international relations and the world economy, diplomats and politicians. They were first held in 2015 and named after the famous scientist and statesman Yevgeniy Maksimovich Primakov. For seven years of its existence the Forum has acquired the status of an authoritative international platform for discussion of development scenarios of international relations, challenges in the field of international security as well as new models of interaction between actors of world politics.

Aide to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Organizing Committee Y.V.Ushakov, President of the IMEMO named after E.M.Primakov of the RAS, academician A.A.Dynkin, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation S.N. Katyrin addressed the forum and made welcoming remarks.

Two-day discussions on the margins of the «Primakov Readings» were held within 8 sessions on current issues on the international agenda: «Energy transition: speed, direction, risks»; «Transformation of western societies: foreign policy consequences»; «Does China need global leadership?»; «The global role of the EU in the post-pandemic period»; «India at global crossroads»; «The Palestinian-Israeli conflict: prospects for a settlement»; «Central Asia at a crossroads: competition or partnership?»; «Russian-American relations. Is there a chance of reducing tensions?».

On June 10, 2021, an international scientific conference «Integration processes in the Eurasian space: trends, problems, prospects» which was participated by about 50 experts from Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan took place at the Institute of world economy and international relations named after E.M.Primakov of the RAS.

During the event, the following issues were discussed: «Socio-economic trends in the post-Soviet space and the prospects for Eurasian integration»; «Central Asia: political transits and integration processes»; «Caucasus: geopolitical shifts and integration trends»; «Political and geopolitical transformations in the European part of the post-Soviet space: Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine».

Deputy director Sanat Kushkumbayev, head of International studies department Assel Nazarbetova took part in the scientific forum on behalf of KazISS under the President of the RK. The Kazakhstani delegation was also represented by the director of the Research institute for international and regional cooperation of the Kazakh-German University Bulat Sultanov, director of the Institute of asian studies Sultan Akimbekov, director of the Center for current research «Alternative» Andrey Chebotarev. All participants from Kazakhstan made reports at the international scientific conference «Integration processes in the Eurasian space: trends, problems, prospects».
