The event was attended by the author of the book V.Dodonov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Ichiro Kawabata, employees of the Embassy of Japan in Kazakhstan, leading Kazakhstani experts in the field of world economy and international relations, university lecturers, representatives of state bodies and public figures.

The monograph examines the latest economic history of Japan - from the period of rapid growth and the "Japanese economic miracle" to the financial crisis of the early 1990s and the subsequent stage of implementing the policy of "abenomics." The book is devoted to the study of the role of the state budget and state companies in the development of the Japanese economy, as well as the impact of the specifics of economic processes on the formation and current state of the country's public debt.

E4l3wPcNIn her opening remarks, the director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Sociology, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, Professor Zarema Shaukenova noted that in his Address to the People of Kazakhstan of January 10, 2018, the Head of State stressed the need for economic development, taking into account the Fourth Industrial Revolution. From this point of view, the experience of Japan as an advanced, high-tech and competitive country is of considerable interest to Kazakhstan in the context of building an effective Kazakhstani economic model. This presentation and subsequent events of KazISS this year are dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The author of the book V.Y. Dodonov, who has been working at KazISS for more than 8 years, has written over 120 scientific papers, including 5 individual monographs.

5uHgE9KcThe author of the book, Vyacheslav Dodonov, noted that in today's world, Japan acted as an example of implementing an effective economic policy and served as an object for research and attempts to use its experience in different countries. However, in the early 1990s, the country experienced a large-scale financial crisis, accompanied by a sharp drop in the stock market, real estate market, problems in the banking sector, etc. The transformation of Japan's growth from the stage of the "economic miracle" to the protracted stagnation that occurred largely due to the change in the nature of financial factors deserves analysis, including in the context of building an effective economic model in Kazakhstan.

The well-known scientists - economists of the republic shared their opinion on the new monograph by V.Dodonov. For example, Gulsara Dzhunusbekova, a professor at the Institute of Management of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted in her speech that the publication of this book is very timely, and many of the financial aspects discussed in it were voiced in the program task of "resetting" the financial sector in the framework of the 2018 Address of the Head of State to the people of Kazakhstan. In general, the book would be very interesting to a wide range of economists, as well as public servants: economists, financiers to analyze the experience of Japan's economic transformation, its system of public finances and to consider the key factors of our country's economic growth.
